The South African Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (SAMSIG) was established in 2005 by a dedicated group of radiologists with a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging. The initial aim of the group was to elevate the level of musculoskeletal imaging in South Africa to an international standard. At that time, there were no dedicated subgroups of this nature within the RSSA, nor dedicated MSK fellowships or MSK specific meetings or congresses.
The current aim of the group is to promote Musculoskeletal Imaging within South Africa amongst radiologists and interested disciplines alike.
Membership is open to all radiologists and clinicians with an interest in musculoskeletal imaging.
